One of the things that unites many of us here is an undying love for the inimitable voice of Beth Gibbons. “Lives Outgrown” often doesn’t feel like an album made by a bunch of people in a studio, it feels more natural than that, with bubbling, volcanic percussion and string sections that feel grown, not written. Each of us has been enthralled by the world created on “Lives Outgrown” and will continue to dip into it for years to come, it just had to be our album of the year!
